Research Interests

My research uses theory and techniques from landscape ecology and wildlife ecology to understand the causes and consequences of environmental change to populations and communities.  Recent research has focused on the impacts of extreme weather, forest disturbance, and land cover change on bird communities.  Current research examines the impacts of future land cover change on carbon sequestration and storage, impacts of and adaptations to climate change in forestry operations, and adaptation to invasive species and climate change by natural resource agencies.
