CT 4-H Membership Guidelines
A 4-H member in good standing in Connecticut meets the following guidelines:
- Must be at least 7 years old and not older than 19 years old as of January 1of the project year.
- Selects projects for in-depth study.
- Records what they learn (record books).
- Attends meetings regularly (if a member of an organized group) and is an active participant.
- Completes a community service project (or becomes involved in a group project).
- Participates in some form of public presentation.
- Has projects evaluated.
Members may participate in a 4-H club or be enrolled as an independent member.
Windham County currently has several active clubs focusing on a host of different activities and projects. We are always looking for people to start new clubs in different interest areas and locations around the county also.

Windham County 4-H Fair
2011is right around the corner and with it the planning for the Windham County 4-H Fair scheduled to take place from July 29 - 31, 2011 at the Brooklyn Fairgrounds in Brooklyn, CT.
Fair Association meetings will take place on the first Monday of each month at 6:30pm in the front meeting room of the Windham County Extension Center. All registered Windham County 4-Hers are automatically members of the Fair Association. We need to see you at the meetings with your input and ideas to make this year's fair a success.
At the next meeting we will be electing fair officers for 2011 and begin looking at other responsibilities associated with putting this event together for another year.

Teen Leadership Weekend
The Windham-Tolland 4-H Camp is holding it's winter teen leadership weekend on January 14-16, 2011at the Windham-Tolland 4-H Camp in Pomfret Center, CT. This weekend of workshops and fun is open to anyone who is 13-16 years old. Look for more information in the coming weeks.
2011 4-H Public Presentation Program
Mark your calendars now and start thinking about presentations because the 2011 Public Presentation Program is scheduled for Friday, February 4th at 6:30pm here at the Hampton Grange Hall.
Like previous years there will be a junior and senior division along with your choice of public speech or visual presentation. Power Points are acceptable as visual presentations.
A senior and junior winner in each catagory will qualify to compete at the state public speaking finals at the State 4-H Expressive Arts Day on Saturday, March 12th.
