The Hartford Cooperative Extension Council (HCEC) is one of eight regional councils located throughout Connecticut that serve as volunteer partners to the University of Connecticut's Cooperative Extension Centers.

The Council's role is to provide a link between the local community and the Cooperative Extension System. The Council cooperates with Extension educators and staff to help identify community needs and implement programs to meet those needs. The Council works to increase public awareness of the Cooperative Extension System and raises funds to support programming.
