 Author’s Identification 

  • Name, Job Title, Academic Credentials if desired
  • Organization
  • Website (if applicable) and email address, both in italics
  • Contact phone number

 

Punctuation, Spacing, etc. 

  • Put 2 spaces after a period, question mark, or exclamation point at the end of a sentence.
  • In a list of three or more items, add a serial comma before the “and” or “but.”
  • Put all end punctuation inside the quotation marks.  (e.g., I said, “hello.”)
  • Separate phone numbers with decimal points (e.g., 860.486.6844)
  • Single space the article

  • afterschool (one word)
  • bilingual (no hyphen)
  • child care (2 words)
  • words such as mid-August, home-based care should be hyphenated
  • make believe (2 words)
  • point of view (no hyphen)
  • school-age
  • child day care
