How do I access UConn's VPN (Virtual Private Network)

    1.   Open a browser and navigate to vpn.uconn.edu

    2.   Sign in with your NetID and Password.

    3.   Near the bottom of the page, under Client Application Sessions, click Start. This will launch Network Connect.

    4.   Please be patient, it could take several minutes to connect to the VPN.

    5.   When a golden lock appears in your system tray (near the time and date) you are connected to the UConn VPN.

What do I do if I have forgotten my NetID password?

    1. Open a browser and navigate to netid.uconn.edu

    2. If you have FORGOTTEN your password

    3. Click on "Reset your password"

    4. Enter your NetID and 8 digit birthday (mmddyyyy)

    5. Answer the three (3) secret questions and choose a new password.

    6. Passwords must be at least 8 characters long, contain at least 1 capital, 1 lowercase letter and a number. You may also use symbols + _ = . @ ?

 How do I change my NetID password?

     1. Open a browser and navigate to netid.uconn.edu

     2. Click on "Change your Current Password"

     3. Enter your NetID and password

     4. Enter your current password

     5. Enter your new password

     6. Enter the new password again to confirm

     7. Passwords must be at least 8 characters long, contain at least 1 capital, 1 lowercase letter and a number. You may also use symbols + _ = . @ ?

     8. Click on change

How do I access my E-Mail from off campus?

       

      To access your E-Mail from anywhere off campus that has internet connectivity:

     

      1. Open a browser and navigate to mail.exchange.uconn.edu.

      2. At the bottom of the column on the left click on "Outlook Web Access Login".

      3. Enter your NetID and password and click "Log On".

Please note that you will have access to your folders that are stored on the UITS Exchange Server. Your personal folders, which are stored on your computer, will not be available.

How do I send large files to a colleague?

      You can use the UConn dropbox to send files that are up to 200 MG in size. Only one of you need be affiliated with UConn so someone say from Purdue would  be able to send files to you using the dropbox. To access the dropbox go to dropbox.uconn.edu

When do I call Tech Services?

        You need to call Technical Services  when you have a hardware problem on a HuskyPC that is no longer in warranty, a hardware problem on a non-HuskyPC or non-connectivity problems with any other equipment such as printers, scanners, fax machines ect.

  Why does Cag IT recommend only purchasing a Husky PC?

       Because of the immense amount of machine variations available, Cag IT and UITS only support Husky PC's. Support for non Husky PC's is entirely the responsibility of the owner.
