Academic Advising is a service provided to students in the Department of Allied Health Sciences. Students should consult with their academic advisor to have questions answered regarding program and university requirements. Students bear the responsibility to ensure all university and program requirements are met for graduation.

Students interested in Post-baccalaureate Certificate or Graduate programs should contact the program directly as requirements vary. See Programs and Majors.

Undergraduate: program and graduation requirements

Below is information for baccalaureate majors in the Department of Allied Health Sciences to assist students in planning their coursework. Please access individual majors for specific major requirements.

  1. University General Education

Students must complete the University of Connecticut General Education Requirements (GER) to meet graduation requirements.

Please refer to the Department of Allied Health Sciences general education check list for information specific to meeting the general education requirements as they relate to our programs.

  2. Plan of Study Forms

Students must meet program requirements as outlined on the plan of study. Plans of study may vary by academic year. Students complete the plan of study consistent with the year they admitted into the Allied Health Sciences major; not the year they entered the university (unless a freshman admission) or their graduation year. Plans of study vary by program and concentrations within programs. Students are advised to meet with their faculty advisor to complete a preliminary plan of study by the end of their sophomore year and to refer to their student Advisement Report in the PeopleSoft system to track program completion. Submission of a final plan of study to the faculty advisor is required the semester before the graduation semester.

  3. Suggested Sequence of Courses

To assist students with planning their semester schedules, the Department of Allied Health Sciences has suggested sequence of courses as listed below for each undergraduate major. Students are advised to consult with their faculty advisor when planning their course sequencing. Please refer to the class registration and helpful hints for additional resources and assistance in planning a semester schedule.

Note: The suggested sequence of courses is not the final plan of study and should be used for planning purposes only.
