Advising: Contact Us

The Academic Advising Center is here to assist students with respect to programs and services within the Department of Allied Health Sciences.

CURRENT Allied Health Sciences majors:

Allied Health Sciences majors may utilize the services of the Advising Center. However, appointments with an advisor in the Advising Center cannot be made in lieu of meeting with your assigned advisor. Your assigned advisor is listed on your Student Center page in the PeopleSoft system. Allied Health Sciences majors are required to meet with their assigned advisor for routine advising business such as (but not limited to):

  • Upcoming semester registration. Allied Health Sciences majors are encouraged to make appointments through SANDBOX or by contacting your advisor directly (not all advisors use the Sandbox registration system).
    • Students with 0-60 credits (freshmen and sophomores) are required to meet with their academic advisor each semester in order to have the advising hold lifted so they can register for classes.
    • Students with 61-120+ credits (juniors and seniors) are not required to meet with their advisior prior to course registration. However, it is highly recommended.
    • Students bear the responsibility for knowing program requirements and completion of the plan of study for graduation.
  • Signatures on forms (Add/drop, Excess Credit Authorization, etc.). Advisors in the Advising Center cannot sign in place of your advisor for business that requires an advisor signature.
  • Questions regarding plan of study completion. Since your advisor must sign off on your final plan of study, students are expected to keep their assigned advisor up to date on course planning and graduation plans.

  • The Advising Center offers information sessions twice a semester during the academic year to cover basic information regarding the majors in the department (including admission criteria, plans of study, course options and career options).
  • Prospective students are asked to attend an information session prior to meeting with an advisor in the Advising Center; doing so makes the appointment more productive in addressing individual questions and concerns.
  • Prospective students are asked to contact an advisor by email to make advising appointments. Please do not use the SANDBOX scheduling system.
