Dean's update

On October 28, the associate deans, department heads and a number of faculty and staff met to consider College priorities for the new strategic plan. The various breakout groups considered the input from the survey responses from faculty, staff and stakeholders and proposed College priorities along with action steps and metrics for accomplishing those goals. Although much remains to be done, the meeting gave us a starting point for development of our plan. Once the materials are summarized, I will begin to work with a small writing team to begin to craft a draft plan. Once a draft is developed, we will make the plan available online for additional input and comment. As we move forward with plan development, we must keep in mind that we have been charged to develop a plan that is realistic and clearly identifies our strengths and priorities for future development. Future resource allocations will be based on how well we define ourselves as important to the success of the University's Academic Plan.
